How To Apply

Basically, any manufacturing firm headquartered in the U.S. that can show a 5% decline in sales (dollar volume) for a current period (most recent 12 months) versus the same months for the prior year, a 5% decline in employment for the same periods, and is indeed import-impacted, is eligible to be approved by the Department of Commerce (DoC). We at Georgia Tech administer the program for the DoC in the Southeast.

It is very easy to get started and find out if you qualify. In order to get started, please complete the following worksheets and return them to Tracy Cole, our client development manager, at tracy.cole {at} innovate.gatech(.)edu or via fax at 770-535-5847. After submitting the two worksheets, we will ask you to start gathering supporting documentation because we will need this in order to complete your petition.

The supporting documents that we will ask for include copies of your two most recent tax returns, financial statements for the past 24 months, and copies of either your Federal 941 or state employer’s quarterly reports for all 8 quarters covered under the petition period.

A common mistake made by potential applicants is to “self-disqualify.” There are varied ways to qualify and it is our job to help determine if your company is eligible. The only thing you need to do up front is provide the information in the following two worksheets. We will do the rest.
