Securing EDA Funding for Manufacturers

SETAAC helps your company secure EDA funding provided by the U.S. Department of Commerce under the Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms (TAAF) Program. Once approved your project manager will determine the appropriate funding level and cost-share option that is available to you through this manufacturer copay assistance program.

Funding levels vary based on a firm’s sales volume and size. Below are the funding levels that can be used towards the cost of third-party contractors to help execute your Adjustment Plan (AP).

Option 1

50% Federal Cost-Share Assistance for Awards Exceeding $30,000 (up to a maximum of $75,000 government share)

  • Firm receiving assistance pays 50% of the project fee to the contracted consultant(s)
  • SETAAC pays the remaining 50% of the project fee to the consultant(s)
Example: Firm contracts with a consultant to provide ERP installation totaling $80,000—the firm pays $40,000/50% towards the consultant costs and SETAAC pays the remaining $40,000/50%.

Option 2

75% Federal Cost-Share Assistance Totaling $30,000 (mini-plan)

  • Firms receiving assistance pay 25% of the project fees to the contracted consultant(s)
  • SETAAC pays the remaining 75% of the project fees to the consultant(s)
Example: Firm contracts with a consultant to provide marketing assistance totaling $30,000—the firm pays $7,500/25% towards the consultant costs and SETAAC pays the remaining $22,500/75%.
