Background
SETAAC assisted a manufacturer of precision mechanical springs from Charlotte, NC. The firm has more than 30 employees and their current annual sales are more than $8 Million. The firm bends wire, from .020 to .270, serving a broad range of industries. They have proprietary sound dampening technology, mechanism assembly capability and a quality-driven manufacturing culture.
Assistance
The firm was experiencing insufficient real-time visibility of in-process inventory and other operational data; lack of reporting tools and access to the data being collected; limited access to source code to continue to maintain and enhance code; and systems that were not fully integrated solutions for CRM, quoting/estimating, production planning/scheduling and document management.
As a result, the firm wanted to implement a new ERP system to replace the combination of multiple legacy custom applications and to improve their visibility to manufacturing, engineering and sales operations. Specifically, they wanted to serve their customer base more effectively and efficiently; continue to optimize the organization through the elimination of waste, reduction of costs, and improved customer satisfaction; increase quality, productivity, and efficiency; and operate on a modern fully integrated ERP.
They were awarded a 50/50 cost share award of $28,800 to implement the design phase of the Acumatica Cloud ERP system by AccuPointe, a provider of integrated software systems and solutions.
Results
AccuPointe successfully completed the design phase of the Acumatica Cloud ERP for the firm which resulted in a single comprehensive, current, and accurate view of sales, manufacturing and inventory; product traceability from sourced materials through finished product; visibility of manufacturing costs; process automation of menial and repetitive tasks; documentation of management capabilities; and streamlined communication across department lines.
